The major regional exhibition 2008 „Nobility in Bavaria", Rosenheim & Hohenaschau, Germany, 2008
The major Bavarian exhibition 2008
The exhibition shows the Bavarian nobility in different key roles from their beginnings in medieval times right up to the present day. The subjects presented include the rise of the nobility and the formation of the aristocracy in Bavaria, religion, noble life and culture, relationships between nobility and the sovereign prince, the conflict between the old and the new nobility and finally the loss of power and importance of the nobility and their life’s reality nowadays.
The exhibition was held in two different locations, at an old engine shed in Rosenheim and in the castle in Hohenaschau and was designed by architects “Gruppe Gut” from Bozen.
Exhibition in Rosenheim
The lighting concept for the engine shed in Rosenheim was worked out in a typical way for an exhibition. Among other things a new 1W LED luminaire with a magnetic holder for display cabinets was developed. This fixture was used in many display cabinets.
The canvases were illuminated sharp-edged with framing mask spots and the structures were “lifted up” using light.
Exhibition in Hohenaschau
In contrast, the part of the exhibition in the castle in Hohenaschau was set in historical surroundings, with incidence of daylight. The artificial lighting played only a supporting role and was achieved in the form of modern candelabra with AR111 lamps.
The light played a very important part in this exhibition, both for the architecture and the exhibits presented.
