OSRAM's 8 Watt Parathom Classic - the first fully-fledged LED substitute for 40 Watt incandescent lamps
The OSRAM Parathom Classic is the world's first bulb-shaped LED lamp with a screw base that can fully replace a 40 Watt incandescent lamp in a few swift moves. However, the Parathom Classic requires just eight Watts to achieve the same light yield, i.e. 80 percent less energy. And with an average service life of 25,000 hours, it outlasts an incandescent lamp by a dazzling factor of 25. All told, every lamp will save almost EUR 200 in electricity, as well as more than 400 kg of CO2 emissions. With the Parathom Classic, consumers can let the light of the future shine in their office or home today. This is an absolute must for environmentally-aware and progressive consumers who are keen to be at the forefront of technological advancement. The LED lamp will be commercially available as of August.

Mercury-free and free from UV and infrared radiation
The Parathom Classic is extremely compact, shatter-proof and resistant to vibrations, making it eminently suitable for all conceivable uses. What's more, the lamps are totally free from mercury and the light they produce contains no UV or infrared radiation. As they include an integrated electronic control system, the lamps must be disposed of as electronic scrap at the end of their service lives, for instance at communal recycling centres.
The Parathom range offers lighting effects and accent lighting options
The Parathom Classic A 40 is part of a constantly growing range of LED lamps from OSRAM which are sure to thrill tech-savvy consumers.
